Undie-Run

When you hear “Undie-Run” what’s the first thing you think of? If you think of half-nude people running around like wild animals then good job, you are correct.

Lets be honest here, what’s better then running around half-naked and acting like your five years old? Exactly…nothing. Chapman’s Undie-Run, which has been a tradition for sometime now, is running into some trouble. Well its not like it’s unsafe for college students to run around town drunk and half-nude at all…

Personally that sounds like a good time, but it’s interesting that Chapman sees otherwise. I thought it would be highly encouraged, weird. The main concern of the Undie-Run is the amount of alcohol consumption both before and after the event. Telling college students not to drink is like asking a telling a baby not to cry. Its completely useless, but props for the valiant effort!

Students’ safety is of huge importance but to completely shut down the event would be a tad bit severe. The most stressful time in college besides moving in and adjusting is always finals. The Undie-Run is a tradition that helps students relieve stress and just have fun. If it was up to me, which of course it isn't, I would have more severe punishments for out of control students and enforce the rules seriously. Just because someone might have gone a little out of control last year shouldn't ruin it for the rest of us.

  1. It also seems humorous. Especially when you say that there's nothing better than running around naked. It's witty and humorous and gets the point across.

  2. I think this is supposed to be a sarcastic and witty voice. The way you make it seem like we do all those frowned upon things all the time makes it seem this way.

  3. I agree with Heather, in which the tone is sarcastic. The way that your response is written makes it seem as though you wish that you were in charge of everything, but you are not. Good Job!

  4. I think this is also humorous. The way you wrote this article it seems like you were poking fun not only at the Undie-Run, but also how Chapman tries to prevent students from participating in the run.

  7. If you hyperlink the phrase, "half-nude people running around like wild animals" you absolutely have to link to a picture, or you will get hate mail from people online. Seriously. Or at least half seriously.

Good to link to the article, but choose a more neutral set of words to provide the link.

    Watch the your - you're and its - it's.

I definitely get the sarcasm -- everything you say I get the feeling you mean the exact opposite.

I think the argument could dig deeper in the last paragraph -- sarcasm is quite an effective tool when arguing, and doesn't prohibit you from getting into detail.
